What is a numerology name calculator?
A numerology name calculator converts the letters of your full birth name into numbers using the Pythagorean system. The chart runs A=1, B=2, C=3 and so on through I=9, then repeats: J=1, K=2, down to Z=8. The letter values are added together, then reduced until a single digit remains. That digit becomes one of three core name numbers: the Expression, the Soul Urge, and the Personality.
Each number reads a different layer of you. The Expression comes from every letter and maps your talents and potential. The Soul Urge comes from the vowels and reveals what drives you. The Personality comes from the consonants and shows the impression you make. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are deliberately kept un-reduced, because they carry a heightened, more demanding energy. Unlike the Life Path, which is built from your birth date, these three numbers come from your name alone.
How the name calculator works
The calculation follows four steps. No account, no data storage, and the math is shown on every result.
Write your full birth name
Middle names count. Only the letters A to Z are read; accents, spaces and punctuation are ignored.
Convert each letter to a value
The Pythagorean chart maps A to 1, B to 2, C to 3 and so on up to I=9, then repeats: J=1, K=2, all the way to Z=8.
Sum, then reduce
Add every letter value. If the total has more than one digit, add its digits together, and repeat until a single digit remains.
Keep master numbers intact
If a total lands on 11, 22 or 33, it is preserved instead of reduced. Master numbers are read as their own archetypes.

What is the Expression number?
The Expression number, sometimes called the Destiny number, is built from every letter of your full birth name. It describes your natural talents, your strengths, and the potential you are here to develop. Where the Life Path shows the road, the Expression shows what you bring to it: the skills that feel effortless and the version of yourself you are becoming. If your Expression lands on a master number, its meaning is read with extra intensity.
What is the Soul Urge number?
The Soul Urge number, or Heart's Desire, is built from the vowels in your name. Keiro counts Y as a vowel, following the Pythagorean tradition; that is why the vowel chart includes it. This number reveals what you most want: your motivations, your values, and the kind of fulfilment that satisfies you. It is the quietest of the three name numbers, and often the most personal.
What is the Personality number?
The Personality number is built from the consonants in your name. It describes the outer layer people meet first: how you come across in a new room, the style you project, and the first impression you leave. It is not a mask. It is the doorway others walk through to reach the Soul Urge underneath. Consonants rarely reduce to a master number, but when they do, it marks an unusually strong presence.

What is the difference between Life Path and name numbers?

Does the calculator count Y as a vowel?
Yes. Keiro follows the Pythagorean tradition and treats Y as a vowel, so in a name like "Lynn", Y contributes to the Soul Urge number. The show-the-math breakdown on every result card makes this transparent.
What are master numbers in a name?
11, 22 and 33 are master numbers. In the Pythagorean system they are not reduced to 2, 4 or 6 because they are read as heightened versions of those digits. A master Expression, Soul Urge or Personality is rare and signals an intense, demanding energy.
Does Keiro save the names I enter?
